Tomahawk native Mya Pankow competes in DSU rodeo

DICKINSON, N.D. – Tomahawk native Mya Pankow last month competed in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association’s Dickinson State University (DSU) rodeo in North Dakota.

Pankow, a freshman at UW-River Falls, is majoring in animal science with a minor in agricultural business. She rides for the 2025 UW-River Falls rodeo team and competes in breakaway roping and team roping.

Other universities at the DSU rodeo included South Dakota State University, North Dakota State University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. More than 300 student-athletes competed.

The UW-River Falls rodeo season runs from late August to mid-October with rodeos in Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota and North Dakota.
