Lincoln County Sheriff’s Report: Sept. 28, 2026

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, Sept. 28:

On 09-07-2026 deputies were sent to the area of CTH G and Alder Rd. in the Town of Pine River for a vehicle rollover crash with injuries. When deputies got on scene, they spoke with the driver, a Merrill man. The man reported that he had been in the ditch since the night before. He stated he had been at his sister’s house, and when he was heading home, he stated he missed the curve in the road and crashed. The man was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and received injuries as a result. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Pine River Fire and First Responders, Merrill Ambulance and Rod’s Wrecker.

On 09-25-2026 deputies were sent to the area of USH 8 and Martin Rd. in the Town of Somo for a one-car crash with injuries. Upon arrival, the deputy was able to talk to the driver, a man from Olivia, Minn. The man reported being E/B on USH 8 when he swerved to miss a deer. The man then lost control of the vehicle, entered the south ditch and became airborne before coming to final rest. As a result of the crash, the vehicle airbags were deployed, and the man and his passenger sustained minor injuries.

On 09-25-2026 deputies were sent to an address on STH 17 in the Town of Pine River for a domestic disturbance in progress. It was reported by the victim, 51, that she was struck in the face by her fiancé, 54. When deputies arrived on scene, they made contact with the suspect, who cooperated with them. He reported that he and the victim had been arguing for about an hour before he struck her. He further stated he just lost his temper. The suspect was placed under arrest for domestic battery and disorderly conduct. He was transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was turned over to corrections staff. The victim refused medical attention. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Merrill PD.

Deputies conducted 30 traffic stops and 24 security checks.

Deputies responded to 12 car vs. deer crashes.
