Richard “Jim” J. Smith, Jr.

Richard “Jim” J. Smith, Jr., age 69, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at his home under the care of his family and Aspirus Hospice.  Jim was born on December 23, 1956, in Waukegan, IL, to the late Richard and Nancy (Howard) Smith.  He was married to Robin Turner on May 14, 1982; she survives.

Jim graduated from Round Lake High School in Illinois in 1975 and soon began his working life.  He briefly worked as a delivery driver for 7UP before owning and operating his own delivery route for Archway Cookies. Over the years, he continued his career in delivery, working for Budweiser, Losch Beverage, and other beer companies.  Jim later moved to Tomahawk from Kansasville, WI, where he fully embraced the lifestyle he loved most. He found great happiness in fishing, archery, and riding his UTV. 

Survivors include his wife of over 43 years, Robin Smith; and his daughters, Merry Starszak and Michelle (George) Brixius.  He is further survived by his grandchildren, MacKenzie, Mariah, Madison, and Raegan.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Nancy; and his sister, Laurie.
