Brian D. McMeekin, age 86, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau, WI. Brian was born in Chicago, IL, on May 17, 1940, to the late Harold and Isabel (Theobald) McMeekin. In 1976, he married Anna Marie Lewandowski, and together they shared 41 years of marriage before her passing in 2017.
Brian moved from Chicago to the Northwoods of Wisconsin 40 years ago. He had a love for nature and found great pleasure in feeding the deer and watching the wildlife that visited his yard. Brian also enjoyed playing the accordion, sharing his love of music with those around him. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, who held a special place in his heart.
Survivors include his sons, Don (Amanda) McMeekin and John (Debbie) McMeekin; his brothers, Melvin, Gerald, Peter, Denis, Dean, Steve, and Stanley; and his sisters, Glenda and Beverly. Brian is further survived by 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Isabel; his wife, Anna Marie; his children, Patricia Pucci and Rick Pucci; two sisters; and seven brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at the Rodeway Inn & Suites. Pastor Mark Gass will officiate. The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00 PM until the time of services at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at the Prairie Rapids Cemetery in the Town of Nokomis. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
