‘Operation Hats Off to Our Heroes’: LCVSO offering free hats for veterans

LINCOLN COUNTY – The Lincoln County Veterans Services Office (LCVSO) is currently conducting a hat giveaway for veterans.

In a release, LCVSO said “Operation Hats Off to Our Heroes” is a “special initiative designed to give back to the esteemed veterans of Lincoln County.”

The program will see the distribution of complimentary hats to all eligible veterans “as a tangible token of gratitude for their unwavering service and profound sacrifices,” according to LCVSO.

“Operation Hats Off to Our Heroes is more than just a giveaway,” LCVSO stated. “It's a profound expression of our community's deep respect and admiration for those who have defended our freedoms. Every hat distributed represents a thank you to the brave men and women who have answered the call of duty and protected this great nation.”

LCVSO is inviting all new and former customers, as well as any veteran possessing an honorable discharge, to visit LCVSO at 801 N. Sales St., Merrill, where they can claim a free hat specifically designed to represent the branch of service in which they served.

The initiative is a “direct reflection of our commitment to acknowledging and celebrating the dedication of every individual who has taken the solemn oath to protect and serve the United States,” according to LCVSO.

"We are incredibly proud to launch 'Operation Hats Off to Our Heroes' as a small, yet meaningful, way to show our immense gratitude and to honor their enduring contributions. We extend a sincere invitation to all eligible veterans to stop by our office, connect with us, and receive their well-deserved hat."

Veterans are encouraged to visit LCVSO during our regular business hours, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to receive a free hat. Supplies are limited, and hats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
