Posted

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, Oct. 6:

On 10/05/2025 deputies were assigned to investigate a domestic disturbance that had taken place at an address on CTH G in the Town of Pine River. Deputies met the female victim at the Sheriff’s Office parking lot and spoke with her about the incident. According to the victim, she and the suspect were involved in an argument, and during that argument, he punched her in the face, resulting in what she thought was a broken nose. The deputies aw that she had injuries consistent with being struck in the face. The deputies later located the suspect, a Merrill man, and questioned him about the incident. The suspect denied doing anything. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was booked for misdemeanor bail jumping, disorderly conduct and substantial battery-intended bodily harm.

On 10/05/2025 the Sheriff’s Office took several reports of a vehicle traveling the wrong way on USH 51 near the 211 mile marker in the Town of Merrill. A deputy in the area located the suspect vehicle traveling S/B in the N/B lanes of travel near the 208 mile marker. The deputy immediately attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver continued S/B without stopping. The deputy followed the suspect vehicle for about three miles with lights and siren activated prior to the driver pulling over. Once stopped the deputy made contact with the driver, a Tomahawk woman. The driver told the deputy she didn’t know she was traveling on the wrong side of the highway. While speaking with the driver, the deputy noticed signs of impairment to include open intoxicants in the car. The driver was asked to perform sobriety tests, which she agreed to do, but told the deputy that she would not be able to physically perform them and as a result did not do them. The woman was placed under arrest for a third offense of OWI. She was later booked in to the Lincoln County Jail for misdemeanor bail jumping, second degree recklessly endangering safety, OWI 3rd offense and resisting/obstructing. Multiple vehicles were forced to take evasive maneuvers to avoid being hit head on by the suspect. No injuries were reported.

Deputies conducted 77 traffic stops and 47 security checks.

Deputies responded nine car vs. deer crashes and one car vs. bear crash.
