As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, Oct. 13:
On 10/07/2025 deputies were dispatched to an address on Pope Rd. to investigate a domestic disturbance situation. Upon making contact with the residence, the deputies found that the suspect, an Appleton man, 45, had been staying the residence a few days and had caused a disturbance. The suspect, who, according to the victims, is known to be violent towards them, threatened to harm them. The victims told the suspect that he was no longer welcomed and that he needed to leave. LISO put out a notice to local law enforcement to stop, hold and advise if the suspect was located. The suspect was later found by a deputy with the Portage County Sheriff’s Office (PTSO). During the stop, the suspect fought with the deputy and was subsequently arrested on LISO charges. He was later transported to the Lincoln County Jail on domestic disorderly conduct and felony bail jumping. Following the arrest, the suspect is also facing charges in Portage County.
On 10/12/2025 a deputy on patrol was traveling N/B on USH 51 near the 217 mile marker when they located what appeared to be a traffic crash in the S/B lane of USH 51 in the Town of Rock Falls. Once the deputy got on scene, they located a single vehicle sitting sideways in the road, blocking both S/B lanes of travel. The deputy spoke with the driver, a Wind Lake woman, 43, and she advised that she had struck a deer and lost control of her car. The vehicle did have damage consistent with striking a deer. As the deputy spoke with the woman, they noticed signs of impairment. The woman was asked and agreed to perform some sobriety tests. As a result of those tests, she was placed under arrest for a first offense of OWI and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was later transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where she was turned over to corrections officers.
On 10/12/2025 a deputy on patrol conducted a traffic stop for a speeding violation on Joe Snow Rd. and Mill Rd. in the Town of Scott. The deputy made contact with the driver, a Merrill man, 39, and observed signs of impairment. The driver was asked and agreed to do sobriety tests. As a result of those tests, the driver was arrested for a first offense OWI and a second offense operating without a license within three years. The driver was transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was turned over to corrections officers.
Deputies conducted 53 traffic stops and 26 security checks.
Deputies responded to 19 car vs. deer crashes.
