Francis U. Seroogy, 92, of Tomahawk, was born to Eternal Life on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025. Francis was born Oct.12, 1933, the son of George and Mary (Keween) Seroogy. Francis was born and raised in Green Bay, Wis. He graduated from St. Norbert College in DePere, Wis., in 1955 and Marquette Law School in 1959. After graduating, he married his beloved wife Janis (Steinbrecher) on June 27, 1959 and moved to Tomahawk to begin practicing law. Francis practiced law in Tomahawk for almost 65 years, during which time he served as Tomahawk’s City Attorney for several decades. He was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Being a lawyer and helping people was his greatest passion, but he also loved to spend time in the woods, read, and was an avid sports fan especially of the Packers, Brewers, and Marquette basketball.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Janis; daughters, Pam (Dennis Rothering) Seroogy and Cherie Seroogy; brother, Jack Seroogy; sisters, Jill Geniesse and Terry Winius.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Seroogy; brothers, George Seroogy, Robert Seroogy and Thomas Seroogy; sisters, Anna Mae Sylvester and Jo Williams.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025 at Krueger-Nimsgern Funeral Home, Tomahawk, with Father Aloysius Anthony officiating. Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to time of service at 11 a.m.
