TOMAHAWK – Tomahawk Music on the River (TMOR) this week announced its 2026 summer concert schedule, and it’s set to feature both new acts and returning favorites.

The free summer concert series is entering its 19th year of performances at Veterans Memorial Park along the Wisconsin River in Tomahawk.

A release from TMOR said concert attendees are encouraged to arrive by car, foot, bicycle or boat, and bring lawn chairs, picnic suppers, coolers, family members, neighbors and friends.

Concerts are scheduled on seven consecutive Wednesdays from June 17 through July 29, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. each evening.

In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be held the indoor arena at SARA Park.

This year’s lineup

The Cougars will kick off this year’s concert series on Wednesday, June 17.

TMOR said the dynamic six-member band showcases three lead female vocalists, performing everything from Journey to Lady Gaga with outstanding harmonies.

“The Cougars offer an entertaining blend of pop, ‘80s classics and cross-over country,” TMOR stated. “Widely regarded as one of the Midwest's most popular groups and a top attraction in Green Bay, The Cougars are known for consistently delivering superb performances.”

On Wednesday, June 24, B.D. Greer with The Gents will make their TMOR debut.

TMOR said Greer is a distinguished vocalist from Milwaukee who is renowned for her versatile voice, reminiscent of classic artists such as Aretha Franklin and Peggy Lee, delivering captivating performances in soul and jazz.

“Her ability to engage audiences through high-energy presentations further distinguishes her artistry,” TMOR said.

Ember will return to the TMOR stage on Wednesday, July 1.

Ember is a prominent act in the upper Midwest casino and festival circuit, blending innovative original compositions with dynamic interpretations of pop, rock and country hits.

“Fronted by vocalist Sarah Buresh, the group presents a unique experience integrating the energy of a large-scale rock performance with the sophistication of an orchestral recital,” TMOR stated.

A new addition to the TMOR summer concert series, The Ramble, will perform on Wednesday, July 8.

The Ramble won the Hodag Country Festival’s Country Band Championship in 2024.

“Originating from the southern region and specializing in traditional country music, The Ramble demonstrates a strong affinity for country hits from the 1990s and 2000s,” TMOR said. “Their live performances guide audiences through classic selections that showcase the enduring legacy of country music.”

Johnny and the Motones are slated to perform on Wednesday, July 15.

“This distinguished Wisconsin ensemble, led by John Altenburgh, is renowned for its longstanding affiliation with the Wausau music community,” TMOR said. “With more than 20 years of acclaimed recordings and performances, the group expertly blends blues, soul, jazz and R&B genres while demonstrating exceptional musical versatility.”

A pair of longtime TMOR favorites will close out the final two weeks of the series.

The Jimmy’s will hit the stage on Wednesday, July 22.

“This celebrated band delivers lively shows and has earned multiple awards from the Wisconsin Association of Music Industry (WAMI), as well as the Madison Area Music Association,” TMOR said. “With a repertoire of original music that resonates with followers of roots rock, classic R&B and blues, The Jimmy's are skilled performers who ensure every show is captivating.”

Copper Box will take the stage for the final performance of the summer on Wednesday, July 29.

TMOR said Copper Box is “an accordion-fueled roots rock party.”

“Based in Oshkosh, the band and its members have won multiple WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) awards over the years, entertaining crowds with threads of blues, rock, zydeco, and polka all fused together in a genre-blending celebration," TMOR said.

The TMOR Committee thanked the following Executive Sponsors: Crossbridge Community Bank, Cerny’s Greenhouse, WJJQ 92.5 FM, Tomahawk Pharmacy, the STAR Foundation, Tomahawk Community Thrift Shop and Jeff and Gail Arnold.
