Posted

RHINELANDER – A free program, offered by the Alzheimer’s Association and the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Oneida County, will help people recognize common signs of Alzheimer’s disease and know what to watch for in themselves and others.

The 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s workshop will be held at the ADRC of Oneida County, 100 Keenan St., Rhinelander, on Tuesday, April 15 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The 90-minute program will explore typical age-related changes; describe common signs of Alzheimer’s and dementia; offer tips for how to approach someone about memory concerns; explain the importance of early detection and benefits of diagnosis; detail possible tests and assessments for the diagnostic process; and identify helpful community resources for diagnosis and those affected.

“The earliest signs of Alzheimer’s can look similar to typical age-related changes that we all may experience as we grow older,” a release from the Alzheimer’s Association said. “It is important to be aware of the common warning signs of Alzheimer’s in family and friends. Alzheimer’s and other dementias cause memory, thinking and behavior problems that interfere with daily living.”
