TOWN OF LITTLE RICE – A woman was injured in a hit-and-run in the Town of Little Rice last week.
According to a release from the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday, April 21, at approximately 7:43 a.m., a call was received from Susan M. Titus, 59, of Little Rice, who reported that she had been struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Kelly Fire Ln. and Rozell Rd. and had sustained injuries.
Oneida County deputies responded to the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office said initial investigation indicated that a 1994 White GMC, operated by Robert R. Cookson, 59, of Little Rice, struck Titus and fled the scene at a high rate of speed. Deputies located Cookson’s vehicle and conducted a traffic stop a short time later.
Titus was transported by Oneida County ambulance to Aspirus Tomahawk Hospital for her injuries. Her condition was unknown as of last Tuesday.
The investigation is ongoing.
The Tomahawk Leader reached out to the Sheriff’s Office for additional information on Sunday, April 26. No additional information had been provided as of press time on Monday, April 27.
Also responding to the scene were the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, the Minocqua Police Department, Oneida County Ambulance Service, the Little Rice Fire Department and Little Rice First Responders.
