William ‘Bill’ E. Reich

William “Bill” E. Reich, age 84, of Tomahawk, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 28, 2019 at his home.

Bill was born on Aug. 28, 1935 to William C. & Genevieve (Gahan) Reich. He was married to Catherine “Kitty” Dirkx on Oct. 27, 1956 in Harrison; together they had seven children. Bill was in the National Guard for eight years. He worked as a maintenance man for many years at Sacred Heart St. Mary’s Hospital. Bill loved gardening and watching the Brewers and Packers. He also enjoyed woodworking, trout fishing and playing cribbage. Most of all, Bill enjoyed family gatherings and time spent with his grandchildren. Bill also volunteered with the food pantry. He was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Bill is survived by his wife – Catherine; his children – Michael (Carol) Reich of Wausau, Mary (Lonn) Clements of Tomahawk, Bev “Beats” (Michael) Wyka of Bloomington, MN, Dee (Pat) Gillette of Tomahawk, Dave (Tracey) Reich of Grafton and Kathy (Ron) Duff of Rosemont, MN; and his siblings – Frank (Diane) Reich, Rita Kimball, Mary Lou (Gene) Seipp and Tom (Nancy) Reich. Bill is further survived by 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, son – Ken “Punchy” Reich, sister – Irene Copisky and granddaughter – Beth Fischer.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Bill Reich took place at 12 Noon on Friday, Nov. 1, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Fr. Louis Maram Reddy officiated. Visitation took place at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 12 Noon.
