Virginia “Ginger” A. Jach-Richards, age 84, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026, at her home. Ginger was born on January 2, 1942, to the late Alvin and Louise (Hamel) Jach in Tomahawk, WI, where she remained deeply rooted in the community she loved throughout her life.
Ginger was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Richards, her partner in life and adventure. Together, they shared a love of travel exploring destinations around the world. A dedicated community leader, Ginger proudly served as Supervisor for the Town of King. She was instrumental in initiating recycling efforts in the Town of King and worked tirelessly to promote environmental stewardship. Her commitment to conservation extended through her many years of involvement with the Wisconsin DNR Congress in her area, where she was known as an effective environmentalist and respected leader. She also gave her time to help young people register to vote through the League of Women Voters. Ginger worked as a millwright at PCA in Tomahawk beginning in 1980 and retired in 1997. A love for the outdoors, she enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapping, and was a passionate mushroom hunter. She cultivated gardens and nurtured countless plants, always finding joy in watching things grow. Over the years, she raised chickens, geese, and ducks, and loved all birds. Her home was also shared with many cats throughout the years, each one dearly loved. Ginger also served on the Lincoln County Humane Society.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Richards; her four children; her brothers, Fritz (Margi) Jach and Larry Jach; her sister, Nancy (Greg) Powers, and her sisters-in-law, Susan (Jim) Vigneau and Sheila Jach. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Louise; her brothers, Jerry Jach and Louie Jach; and her sister, Mary Ingman.
