LINCOLN COUNTY - The 10-day trial for former Tomahawk resident Henry Robert Hughes, who was charged in the 2016 death of his infant son, has been rescheduled for Oct. 12 through Oct. 23, 2020, according to court records. Jury selection will take place Oct. 5.
The trial, originally scheduled to take place in Lincoln County court in November, was delayed after a key witness was admitted for emergency surgery that required six weeks of recovery.
Hughes, who was 20 years old at the time of his 23-day-old son’s death on Sept. 18, 2016, faces one count of first-degree reckless homicide and two counts of child abuse. If convicted, he could serve up to 75 years in prison.
