TOMAHAWK – Aspirus Health this week announced that several of its hospitals, including its Tomahawk location, have been recognized as Top Performers in the Wisconsin Hospital Association’s (WHA) CheckPoint program.

In a release, Aspirus said the hospitals earned recognition for their efforts in patient safety, quality improvement and delivering high standards of care.

“This honor underscores Aspirus’ ongoing commitment to enhancing patient outcomes and improving health care services across the region,” Aspirus stated.

Aspirus explained that the WHA CheckPoint program (www.wha.org/CheckPoint), established in 2004, is the first statewide, voluntary hospital quality reporting initiative in the United States.

“It serves as a critical tool for benchmarking clinical performance and sharing best practices among Wisconsin hospitals,” Aspirus said. “Aspirus Health’s recognition through this program highlights its dedication to quality care and patient safety.”

Aspirus’ Eagle River, Langlade, Medford, Merrill, Rhinelander, Stanley, Stevens Point, Wausau and Wisconsin Rapids hospitals joined Aspirus Tomahawk Hospital in being recognized as Top Performers.

“These hospitals demonstrated excellence across key categories, including Mortality-Conditions and Procedures, Patient Safety for all Patients and Patients with Surgery, Patient Experience, Readmissions and Infection Control,” Aspirus stated.

“Our recognition as Top Performers is a direct result of the dedication and teamwork across our system,” said Lisa Rowe-Peplinski, Aspirus Vice President of System Quality and Nursing Integration. “We remain focused on providing the best possible care to our patients, and this acknowledgment is a testament to those efforts.”
