TOMAHAWK – Residents and staff at Tomahawk Health Services celebrated Skilled Nursing Home Week earlier this month.
Amanda Scholz, Director of Nursing at Tomahawk Health Services, said the week started with clown and face painting on Monday.
On Tuesday, 40 6th grade students from Tomahawk Middle School stopped by to play carnival games outside with the residents and enjoy the beautiful weather.
“(On) Wednesday, we were able to cool off with an ice cream social,” Scholz stated. “The fun didn't stop there, because Thursday we joked around with pie in the face – residents pieing staff and staff pieing residents, followed by live music. Friday was a blast, with a petting zoo bringing all sorts of animals for the residents to enjoy.”
Scholz noted that residents and staff enjoyed carnival-themed meals throughout the week.
“Of course, we have popcorn each day,” she added.
