Tomahawk Girl Scouts visit Ireland, United Kingdom

Posted

UNITED KINGDOM – Last summer, three Tomahawk Girl Scouts and two chaperones visited Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Tomahawk High School (THS) seniors Aubrey Graeber, Katelyn Austin and Genevieve Gleisner were joined on the 15-day trip by Cheryl Graeber and Kay Kissinger Wolf.

Kissinger Wolf noted that the international trip marked the fourth taken by local Girl Scouts over the past 20 years.

The group traveled via plane, train, ferry and bus through Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England, staying in hostels and experiencing local cuisine.

Among the locations, attractions and activities enjoyed by the Tomahawk travelers were Dublin, Blarney Castle and the Cliffs of Moher, Ireland; Belfast, the Titanic museum and Giant’s Causeway, Northern Ireland; Edinburgh, a Loch Ness boat tour and the Scottish highlands, Scotland; Treharris and Cardiff, Wales; and London, Buckingham Castle and a bus tour, England.

Kissinger Wolf said the group greatly appreciates the community’s support through cookie sales, the Scouts’ aluminum can collection and other fundraisers.
