For the Tomahawk Leader
TOMAHAWK – Tomahawk-area resident Paige DeKiep completed her first solo flight at the Tomahawk Regional Airport on Monday, July 22.
DeKiep recently started flying lessons through KTKV Flyers, a local flying club that operates a Cessna 172 and a Redbird flight simulator located at the airport.
Flight instructor Kirk Zastrow noted that first flight is one of the milestones on the way to obtaining a Private Pilot Certificate.
DeKiep plans to continue her training to obtain the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)-required 40 flight hours prior to taking her Private Pilot check ride by early fall. Photo courtesy of Kirk Zastrow
