For the Tomahawk Leader

WAUSAU – The Tomahawk Middle School cross country teams recently lined up amongst over 550 other competitors at the Junior Smiley Invitational.

While youth and illness didn’t have the Hatchets feeling their best, there were several performances that propelled Tomahawk to the finish line in good spirits.

The Lady Hatchet squad was led once again by medalist Charlee Lund, who took home a 10th place medal for her efforts with a time of 14:15 over the two-mile course.

Other athletes coming home with some awards for their top-50 efforts were Connor Zorn (22nd), Hector Luna-Perez (37th) and Victoria Towle (44th).

Completing the scoring pack for Tomahawk were Kamron Ristau (54th), Levi Cerkas (60th), Tripp Tabbert (63rd), Max Micke (69th), Chastin Dziura (70th), Leigha Vassar (77th), Alyse Arndt (79th), Elaine Huber (81st), Alaina Stogbauer (83rd), and Lily Meurer (91st).
