STAR Splash raises funds for local organizations

TOMAHAWK – The Support Tomahawk Area Resources (STAR) Foundation held its annual STAR Splash earlier this month.

The event was held at Castaways Bar and Grill, 1315 S. Tomahawk Ave., Tomahawk, on Saturday, Jan. 4.

As part of the Star Splash, teams brave enough to plunge into the ice-cold waters of Lake Mohawksin take pledges before they jump, with half of the funds raised going to an organization of their choice and the other half to the STAR Foundation.

This year, a total of 65 jumpers on 13 teams raised $25,000.00 through pledges. A total of $15,450.00 came from sponsorships, and raffles accounted for $2,325.00.
