Send Christmas cards to military members

Posted

FOR THE TOMAHAWK LEADER

TOMAHAWK - Santa’s Workshop Craft Show will again offer an opportunity to say thank you to our service men and women.

A drop box will be set up in the entranceway at SARA Park Activity Center on Nov. 23, where guests can bring a Christmas card or letter of thanks to a member of our country’s military. Cards and letters collected will be shipped to the national organization, A Million Thanks, and distributed to our forces overseas and stateside.

Guidelines include writing encouraging messages on a single card or letter without an envelope or inserts. Writers may add their name and address, as many of the recipients will write back. Community groups and organizations are encouraged to write multiple Christmas cards & letters and bring them to this drop off center.

Last year more than 300 cards were collected.

Santa’s Workshop Craft Show will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the SARA Park Activity Center, 900 W. Somo Ave., Tomahawk. For more information, call 715-224-2450.
