Richard F. Seufzer, age 93, formerly of Tomahawk, died peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2023 at his home in Lowell surrounded by his family.

The visitation was held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Watertown on Friday, Aug. 11, 2023 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial followed on Friday at 11 a.m. with Fr. Tim Renz officiating. Burial took place at St. Henry’s Catholic Cemetery in Watertown.

Richard Francis was born on Oct. 3, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wis., to Joseph and Mary (Slowinski) Seufzer. He was a 1948 graduate of Owen High School. He was united in marriage with Annabelle Eslinger on April 14, 1956 and was blessed with nine children. Richard was a hard worker and his career started at Pied Piper Shoe Company in Wausau. He then started a concrete block company, Rib River Concrete, in Wausau in 1963 until 1964. For a period of time, he lived in Illinois, where he worked for Butcher Boy Door Company and a TV manufacturer. He spent the last several years of his career working at Waukesha Foundry and transferred to Watertown, retiring in 1991. Richard was united in marriage with Lorraine Boehm on Oct. 9, 2006. In retirement, he became a MacGyver of trades, a master of scrolling and woodworking, blossomed as a gardener, and learned the art of fishing. Richard looked forward to having coffee with the guys every morning and just enjoying his life. He was member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tomahawk, the Northwoods Garden Club, and What’s Brewing Coffee Clutch.

Richard is survived by his children, Peter (Lisa) Seufzer of Ixonia, Christopher (Serene) Seufzer of Lowell, Mary Speidel of Florida, Kathryn (Robert) Cottone of Watertown, John (Jessica) Seufzer of Reeseville, Rita (Troy) Alvarado of Clyman, Patricia Seufzer of Whitewater, Queena (John) Buske of Ixonia, and Gregory (Darlene) Seufzer of Florida; brothers, Jim (Theresa) Seufzer of Augusta, Don Seufzer of La Crosse, and David (Maggie) Seufzer of Augusta; brother-in-law, Russ Trulher; stepchildren, Donna (Tom) Pederson and family, Debbie (Bill), Lee (Mary Lou), and Sharon (Dale) and family; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; special care angel, Sue Lindert; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; a sister, Mona Trulher; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Seufzer; a granddaughter, Kristie; and grandsons, Richie and Brian.
