Renee J. Kapellusch, age 52, of Tomahawk, passed away unexpectedly in a tragic accident along with the family dog, Brinley, on Monday, Dec. 26, 2022. Renee was born on Jan. 26, 1970, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., to Lawrence and Kathleen (Bielen) Villeneuve. She was married to Shane Kapellusch on Aug. 22, 1998, in the midst of a thunderstorm, at Sacred Heart Church in Nekoosa, Wis.; he survives.
Renee grew up in Wisconsin Rapids and graduated from Lincoln High School. She later attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where she received her bachelor’s degree. Renee was employed by the State of Wisconsin at Lincoln Hills School in Irma, where she worked as a youth counselor and social worker. Later, she worked as a probation and parole officer in both Marathon and Oneida counties. Her true passion in life was her children; she loved being a mom and raising her kids alongside her husband, Shane, and loved going to watch her kids play in their sporting events. She enjoyed scrapbooking, making homemade cards, and more recently, using her Cricut to make decals and clothes for her loved ones. Renee also loved spending time camping, reading, and riding around the lake on the pontoon boat with Brinley. She loved soaking up the sun accompanying Shane while fishing, and truly cherished time with her family. Renee enjoyed spending her spring breaks in Gulf Shores, Ala., where she hoped to eventually retire.
Renee is survived by her husband of over 24 years, Shane Kapellusch; her three children, Samantha, Katrina, and Kaiden Kapellusch; her parents, Lawrence and Kathleen Villeneuve; her brother, Daniel (Elizabeth) Villeneuve; and her nephew, Theo Villeneuve. She was preceded in death by her aunt, Jane Villeneuve; and her grandparents, Marcie and Theodore Bielen, and Helen and Lawrence Villeneuve Sr.
Renee always saw the best in everyone and will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
