Peter A. Renn

Peter A. Renn, age 84, of the Town of Harrison, Wis., passed away on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2024, at Marshfield Medical Center in Weston, Wis. Peter was born on Feb. 4, 1939, in the Town of Harrison to the late Henry and Whilemina (Schoone) Renn. He proudly served in the United States Army with the 32nd Infantry Regiment from 1961 to 1964. He was later married to Kathleen Tindall; she survives.

Pete was a 1957 graduate of Tomahawk High School. After returning from the military, Pete moved to Twin Lakes, Wis., where he owned and operated Twin Lakes Marine for many years. A lover of the outdoors and always on the move, “Speedy Pete” was a lifetime honorary members of the Aquanuts Water Ski club. He was a founder of the Twin Lakes Water Ski Club. He will be remembered as a committed snowmobile enthusiast and a founding member and safety instructor of the Twin Lakes Snowmobile Club. He was a Director of the AWSC (Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs) and served for 35 years. Pete was an active member of the Knight Owls Snowmobile Club, a member of the Parrish ATV Riders Club, and a member of the Harrison Hills ATV Club. He was an integral part of his community serving as former president of the Lakeland Jaycees and the Twin Lakes Business Association. Pete volunteered his time with the Twin Lakes Fire Department where he was awarded lifetime member serving since 1966. In his younger years, Pete was Cub Master of Troop 343. He was a faithful member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Twin Lakes from 1965 to 2002 and a longtime member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Harrison.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Renn; his sons, Peter (Maria) Renn, and Todd (Lynn) Renn; his daughters, Diana (Allan) Renn, and Nannette (Tig) Kerkman; his sisters, Sr. Frances Renn, SSM, Mary (George) Sladek, and Isabel Olkives. Pete is further survived by his grandchildren, Cassandra (Heather) Pitts, Elizabeth Pitts, Ronda (Victor) Sanchez, Aaron Kerkman, Jenna Kerkman, Emily Renn, and Anthony Renn; and his great-grandson, Theodore Sanchez. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and three sisters.

Funeral services for Peter Renn were held on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at 11 a.m., at St. Augustine Catholic Church. The family received friends for visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Burial followed at the St. Augustine Cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to the St. Jude’s Children Hospital or the Twin Lakes Volunteer Fire Department. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory assisted the family.
