For the Tomahawk Leader
MERRILL – Park City Credit Union recently gave away more than 80 turkey dinners to local families in need, continuing an 11-year-long tradition of giving back to the community at Thanksgiving.
Park City staff assembled to sort the turkeys, stuffing, pies, dinner rolls, gravy and potatoes.
A release from Park City said the turkey dinners are part of the Park City Cares initiative, which “celebrates the credit union’s members and hometowns by completing random acts of kindness across the area.”
Park City said the program’s success is due to “a team effort by Park City Credit Union and the community.”
“Each year, the credit union invites community members to nominate friends, family and neighbors to be the recipient of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner,” Park City stated. “This year, Park City was flooded with nominations.”
Park City CEO Val Mindak noted that the turkey dinners are meant to spread care and positivity in the Northwoods area.
“At Park City, we care about our community’s personal lives and happiness just as much as their financial success,” Mindak said. “Every year, our team looks forward to this initiative. Through these turkey dinners we help local families find financial relief and joy during what can be a stressful time of the year.”
The initiative “allows (Park City) to support our community in ways outside of our daily scope,” Mindak added.
