ONEIDA COUNTY – The Oneida County Health Department (OCHD) this week announced that it is hosting a Diaper Drive to support a Community Baby Shower and Family Day.
In a release, OCHD said the Community Baby Shower and Family Day is a free celebration open to all families, especially those who are expecting or have recently welcomed a baby.
In addition to receiving essential supplies, attendees can connect with local resources, enjoy free kids activities, and enter a drawing for a prize, OCHD said.
The Community Baby Shower and Family Day will be held at the YMCA of the Northwoods, 2003 E. Winnebago St., Rhinelander, on Saturday, July 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Through Wednesday, July 15, OCHD is collecting new diapers of all sizes, as well as baby wipes and new infant clothing to be distributed to expecting and new parents during the event.
Rhinelander drop-locations include OCHD, Culver’s, Trig’s, Trinity Lutheran Church, Nicolet National Bank and the Rhinelander Public Library.
Items can also be delivered to the Minocqua Public Library and Peoples State Bank in Minocqua, as well as Demmer Memorial Library and Faith Lutheran Church in Three Lakes.
The Diaper Drive is a “simple way for our community to come together and support families during one of the most exciting – and challenging – times in life,” according to OCHD.
“Every pack of diapers or onesie donated makes a big difference,” OCHD stated.
OCHD said monetary donations are also welcome and will go toward purchasing baby supplies for families. For online donations and baby registries, visit www.linktr.ee/ochd.wi.
“Let’s work together to ensure every baby in our community has a healthy, supported start,” OCHD stated. “Donate today and help us uplift families and build a stronger, healthier community.”
