For the Tomahawk Leader

TOMAHAWK – The Tomahawk Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted a National Night Out event at Veterans Memorial Park in Tomahawk on Tuesday, Aug. 6.

Chamber Interim Director Charis Lau explained that National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.

Participating agencies included the Tomahawk Police Department, the Lincoln and Oneida County Sheriff’s Offices, the Tomahawk and Nokomis Fire Departments and the Wisconsin State Patrol.

“The Tomahawk Chamber took it one step further, inviting local nonprofits and businesses to come down and participate as well,” Lau said.

The event featured 16 vendors with activities, as well as two food trucks.

“We are very thankful that we received so much support from the community, not just in the promotion of the event, but involvement,” Lau stated. “We live in a phenomenal community.”
