TOWN OF SCOTT – A Merrill man was killed in a UTV crash in the Town of Scott on Sunday, Dec. 31.

According to a release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, a 911 call was received at approximately 1:32 a.m. reporting a single-UTV crash with two occupants on Scott Rd. south of Heldt St. It was reported that the driver of the vehicle was trapped and not responsive.

The driver, identified by the Sheriff’s Office as Chad J. Glaze, 48, was later pronounced deceased.

The male passenger refused medical treatment and left the scene in a private auto.

The Sheriff’s Office said preliminary investigation suggests that the UTV was southbound on Scott Rd. when it lost control, entered the ditch and rolled. Road conditions are believed to have been a factor.

The Merrill Fire Department, the Merrill Police Department and the Lincoln County Coroner assisted the Sheriff’s Office with the crash, which remains under investigation.
