Margaret “Marge” Gamble, 99, a longtime Tomahawk resident, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021 in Tripoli, where she had been living with her daughter.
Marge was born on April 16, 1922 in Providence, Rhode Island, to Arthur and Eve (McGovern) Geer. She was united in marriage to Robert M. Gamble on Jan. 5, 1952, also in Providence. Bob passed away in 1976. Marge had attended Bryant College in Rhode Island. She and Bob moved to Tomahawk in 1966. She worked at Sacred Heart Hospital as an X-Ray tech for many years and helped with computer and data processing. Marge was also employed as a bank teller at Sun City Bank in Arizona and Tomahawk Community Bank for many years, retiring in 1995. She loved quilting, sewing and crocheting. Marge enjoyed playing bingo, going to lunch, crossword puzzles and bridge club. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and DAR – Nokomis Chapter.
Marge is survived by five children - Kathleen (Paul) Sandry of Tomahawk, Michael Gamble of Minnesota, Jeffrey (Regina) Gamble of Colorado, Linda (David) Welbes of Tripoli and Alicia (Dennis) Smart of Colorado. She is further survived by son-in-law – Bill Renn of Colorado, ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband - Bob, a daughter - Susan Renn, and a brother.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Marge Gamble at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 6, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Visitation will only take place on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2021 at Krueger Family Funeral Home, Tomahawk, from 4: p.m. until the time of Vigil Service at 7 p.m. There will not be visitation prior to the Mass on Friday. Burial will immediately follow the Mass in Prairie Rapids Cemetery.
