For the Tomahawk Leader
TOWN OF BRADLEY – Local emergency services personnel took part in railroad incident training last week.
On Monday, June 17, members of the Tomahawk, Cassian, Crescent, Little Rice and Nokomis fire departments, as well personnel from the Woodboro First Responders and Medic 4, took part in training offered by the Watco/FOXY Railroad System.
The company provided classroom training at the Nokomis Fire Department and rail yard training the Bradley yard on County Rd. Y.
“Railroad incidents are the kind of low-frequency, high-risk situations where we want to learn from the experts in order to be better prepared,” the Nokomis Fire Department said.
The FOXY Rail System includes several Wisconsin route segments, including the Prentice-Rhinelander rail route along U.S. Hwy. 8 and the Bradley-Mosinee rail route, going north and south.
