Lincoln County Sheriff’s Report: May 5, 2025

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, May 5:

On 4/29/2025 deputies were dispatched to an address in the N5900 block of STH 107 for a domestic disturbance that was also reported to be physical. When deputies arrived on scene they were advised that the suspect, a Tomahawk man, 45, had left the scene and was possibly armed with a 9mm handgun. About an hour later, a deputy located the suspect traveling N/B on STH 107. The deputy stopped the vehicle and detained the subject for investigation into the fight. While doing so, the deputy also noticed signs of impairment and requested the suspect perform some sobriety tests. As a result of the tests and the investigation into the original fight, the man was placed under arrest for a first offense OWI, as well as disorderly conduct, going armed while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On 4/30/2025 deputies were dispatched to the area of CTH S and STH 107 in the Town of Bradley for a driving complaint where a vehicle was reported to be all over the road. A short time later, the suspect vehicle was located S/B on USH 51 near the 223 mile marker. After observing similar driving behavior, the deputy stopped the vehicle on USH 51 near the 214 mile marker. The deputy who conducted the stop has advanced training in recognizing persons operating under the influence of drugs. When he made contact with the driver, a Wausau woman, 27, he noticed signs of impairment. The woman was asked to perform some sobriety tests, which she agreed to do. As a result of those tests, she was arrested for a first offense OWI. A K9 from the Merrill PD was called to assist with the stop and conducted sniff of the car with a positive alert. At the conclusion of the search, the passenger in the vehicle, a man, 41, from Jacksonville, Fla., was also arrested. Both parties were transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where they were booked in on multiple charges.

On 05/01/2025 the Lincoln County Jail reported that the released an inmate on Huber release to go to a job interview in the City of Merrill. A short time later, it was discovered that the inmate, David Brown, 19, of Milwaukee, never showed up for his job interview and failed to return to jail. It is believed that he was picked up by Earnest Julien, 22, also of Milwaukee. Both subjects are facing charges as a result of this escape. On 05/1/2025 deputies were sent to an address on Bay Mill Rd. in the Town of Bradley for a disturbance in progress. It was reported that a Tomahawk man, 30, and his father, a Tomahawk man, 53, were arguing. When deputies arrived on scene, they learned that the argument was due to the fact that the younger man was intoxicated, and his father took his keys and wouldn’t let him drive resulting in a verbal argument. As a result, the son was arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to the Lincoln County Jail.

On 05/3/25 a deputy was sent to an address in the W700 block of Barker Ave. in the Town of Pine River for a burglary. The homeowner stated that he left his property to go to a friend’s house, and while he was gone, someone entered the house and caused damage to the property and stole several items. The homeowner reported his television was smashed, and his car was damaged. Items stolen include an Xbox gaming system, some watches and a cat. The case remains under investigation.

Deputies conducted 38 traffic stops and 41 security checks.

Deputies responded to six car vs. deer crashes, one car vs. turkey and one car vs. porcupine.
