As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, May 27:
On 05/25/2024 a deputy on patrol stopped a vehicle on North 4th St. and Mohawk Dr. in the City of Tomahawk for expired registration. In making contact with the driver, an Oak Creek man, 29, the deputy observed signs of impairment. When asked, the driver admitted to drinking and smoking marijuana. The driver was asked to do SFSTs, and as a result of those tests, he was arrested for a 3rd offense of OWI. The subject was later transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was booked in for the violation.
On 05/26/2024 a deputy on patrol stopped a vehicle on USH 51 near the 211 mile marker for a speeding violation of 85 in a 65 MPH zone. When the deputy made contact with the driver, a Wisconsin Dells woman, 19, the deputy detected the odor of marijuana. Following a search of the vehicle, the driver was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. One of the passengers in the vehicle, a Linden man, 21, was also arrested for possession of marijuana. Both parties were transported to the Lincoln County Jail.
Deputies conducted 94 traffic stops and 22 security checks.
Deputies responded to 14 car vs. deer crashes.
The 911 Center took seven hang-up calls and 10 nuisance calls.
Severe storm-related: 39 road blocked complaints and eight wire down complaints.
