Lincoln County Sheriff’s Report: May 20, 2024

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, May 20:

On 05/13/2024 deputies were dispatched to an address on Vacation Ln. in the Town of Bradley for a call of disorderly conduct. It was reported that the male suspect, a Tomahawk man, 19, was out of control, taking items out of the house, yelling, and being verbally argumentative. The R/P was the suspect’s mother, a Tomahawk woman, 45. It was learned while the deputies were in route that there was a warrant for the suspect’s arrest. While waiting for law enforcement, the suspect left the house, and the parties inside locked the door to keep him out. The suspect then began to pound on the door and window to get into the house. Upon arrival of the deputy, he detained the suspect for the warrant and to further investigate the disorderly conduct. The suspect was later transported to the Lincoln County Jail for the warrant, as well as domestic disorderly conduct.

On 05/14/2024 a deputy was dispatched to a crash with injuries on CTH S and STH 107. It was reported that a truck was found off the road and up against a group of trees. The deputy was unable to locate a driver once he arrived on scene, but found what he believed to be the driver’s identification. After further follow up, the deputy identified the driver as a Wausau man, 21. The deputy was able to make contact with the driver, and he advised that he was test driving the truck when he swerved to miss a deer. In the process, the driver still struck two deer, lost control of the vehicle and ended up where the vehicle was found. In the process, the subject struck his nose. The male was transported to Aspirus Tomahawk Hospital by private auto for treatment of his injuries.

On 05/14/2024 deputies were dispatched the area of STH 86 and Loop Rd. in the Town of Bradley for a reported physical domestic dispute in a car. It was reported that a male subject in a silver Volkswagen Passat was beating on a female passenger. The female passenger was seen holding her head out the window of the car, possibly yelling for help. The R/P lost sight of the suspect vehicle and later reported that he believed it may have traveled W/B on STH 86. Deputies checked the area and were unable to locate the suspect vehicle. Lincoln County Dispatch notified the Price County Sheriff’s Office and advised them of the report and requested they watch STH 86 for any vehicles matching that description. The suspect male was described as bald and skinny wearing a white shirt. The female victim was described as blond hair and wearing a red shirt. The R/P advised that he felt the suspect knew he was being watched and that he was driving aggressively in an attempt to get away. Price County was unable to locate the vehicle. As of this report, the suspect has not been identified.

On 05/15/2024 the Sheriff’s Office received a call of a male party sleeping in his car for over an hour in the area of STH 107 and Lokemoen Rd. in the Town of Merrill. The R/P also reported that they saw alcohol in the vehicle. Prior to the arrival of law enforcement, the male subject woke up and drove away, traveling W/B. A short time later, a deputy located the vehicle on STH 107 by Big Hill Rd. After making contact with the driver, a Menasha man, 32, the deputy noticed a strong odor of intoxicants, open intoxicants in the vehicle and signs of impairment with the driver. The deputy asked the driver to perform SFSTs, which the driver did, and as a result of those tests, he was placed under arrest for first offense OWI. The driver was also cited for open intoxicants.

On 05/16/2024 the court security deputy was advised of a male subject was scheduled to have court on this date and there was a warrant for his arrest. The deputy made contact with the subject, a Wausau man, 35. When contact was made, the subject attempted to leave, but was detained by the deputy. The subject was then arrested on the warrant, and at the time of his arrest, he was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. The subject was also in violation of court bonds from previous cases. The subject was taken to the jail and booked for the drug paraphernalia violation and eight counts of bail jumping.

On 05/18/2024 the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a woman being passed out in a car at the intersection of STH 64 and Deer Run Rd. in the Town of Pine River. The R/P advised that the woman’s foot was on the brake, and the car was in drive and that there was what looked to be alcohol in the car. The deputy arrived on scene and found the driver, a Merrill woman, 69. The R/P made attempts to get the driver’s attention, with no luck. The deputy found the doors to the vehicle were locked. Once he was able to make contact with the driver, he noticed signs of impairment. The deputy placed the driver through a series of SFSTs, and as a result of those tests placed her under arrest for first offense OWI. The deputy later released the driver to a responsible party.

On 05/19/2024 the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a reckless driver traveling N/B on USH 51 near the 206 mile marker in the Township of Pine River. The vehicle was reported to be speeding, swerving all over the road and almost hitting other vehicles. A deputy located the suspect vehicle on USH 51 near the 211 mile marker. Upon making contact with the driver, a Woodruff man, 31, the deputy noticed signs of impairment. The driver was placed through a series of SFSTs, and as a result of those tests, he was placed under arrest for second offense OWI, with a passenger under the age of 16. The driver was also cited for open intoxicants. The driver was then transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was booked in.

Deputies conducted 52 traffic stops and 30 security checks.

Deputies responded to 16 car vs. deer crashes.

The 911 Center took two hang-up calls and five nuisance calls.
