Lincoln County Sheriff’s Report: March 23, 2026

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, March 23:

On 03/17/26 LISO was advised by MNSO of a reckless driver traveling N/B on CTH W entering Lincoln County in the Town of Pine River. The complaint was that the suspect vehicle was seen weaving all over the road, with the driver and passenger actively physically fighting. Deputies arrived in the area and located the vehicle in question in the area of CTH W and STH 64, where the vehicle was stopped. Upon investigating, it was learned that the two were fighting over an earlier driving issue. The passenger of the car, a Green Bay man, was arrested for one count of disorderly conduct and two counts of felony bail jumping. He was transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was turned over to corrections officers.

On 03/19/26 deputies were dispatched to an address on Railway St. in the Town of Birch for a domestic dispute. It was reported to the Sheriff’s Office that the fight was over the male subject’s drinking. The male subject, an Irma man, left the residence prior to the arrival of deputies. Deputies later located the man driving a vehicle in the area and attempted to stop him with his failure to stop at first. When contact was made with the man, the deputy noticed signs of impairment. The deputy asked the man to perform some sobriety tests. The man refused to do the tests and denied driving. The man was then placed under arrest and was eventually transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was booked for felony bail jumping, disorderly conduct, OWI 1st, possession of marijuana 2nd offense, probation violations and resisting/fleeing/fail to stop.

On 03/20/26 deputies were dispatched to an address on Belle Ln. in the Town of Somo for a person being drunk and disorderly. Deputies from LISO and ONSO arrived on scene at the same time and located the suspect, a Tripoli man, laying on the ground in the snow. Deputies assisted the man up off the ground and attempted to place him in handcuffs, but the man resisted, telling the deputies that he was going to be a problem. The man continued to resist being taken into custody until a taser was deployed. After being tased, the man was taken into custody. He was later transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was booked for battery to law enforcement, two counts of disorderly conduct, probation violations and resisting arrest.

On 03/22/26 the Sheriff’s Office took a reckless driving complaint, observed swerving in the road in the area of East Main St. and Curran St. in the City of Merrill. The R/P reported the suspect had left the City of Merrill and was seen turning N/B on STH 17 from CTH G. A short time later, a deputy located the suspect vehicle on the side of the road, with the suspect standing out of the vehicle relieving himself. The deputy made contact with the driver, a Merrill man, and observed signs of impairment, and the man admitted to drinking. The man was asked to perform some sobriety tests, which he agreed to do. As a result of those tests, he was placed under arrest for a first offense OWI. He was later transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was turned over to corrections officers and held until he was sober.

On 03/22/26 the Sheriff’s Office was alerted to a possible reckless driver traveling on CTH K south of the City of Merrill. The vehicle was reported to have a loud exhaust and traveling around 90 MPH. A deputy located the suspect vehicle traveling E/B on CTH Q from CTH K in the Town of Scott. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, making contact with the driver, a Wausau man. The deputy noticed signs of impairment and asked the man to perform some sobriety tests. The man agreed to the tests, and as a result was placed under arrest for a first offense of OWI, along with speeding. He was then transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was turned over to corrections officers.

On 03/22/26 the Sheriff’s Office received information of a possible impaired driver in the area of Brandenburg Ave. near CTH Q in the Town of Scott. Deputies responded to the area and located the suspect vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, a River Falls man, and noticed signs of impairment. The deputy asked the man to perform some sobriety tests, which he agreed to do. As a result of those tests, the man was placed under arrest for a first offense of OWI. The man was later transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was turned over to corrections officers.

On 03/22/26 deputies were dispatched to an address on Ainsworth Ave. in the Town of Birch for a person being drunk and disorderly. It was reported that the suspect, a woman, was drunk and throwing things around the house, trying to hit people. At one point, the woman did hit one subject, knocking the victim’s glasses off her face. The woman was asking them to not call the police. When deputies arrived on scene, the woman was placed under arrest for battery and bail jumping. She was later transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where she was turned over to corrections staff.

Deputies conducted 42 traffic stops and 30 security checks.
