As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, Jan. 27:
On 1/22/2025 deputies were dispatched to an address on CTH K in the Town of Scott for a fight in progress that was reported to be physical. The R/P told the deputies that her ex-boyfriend, a Tomahawk man, 25, came to her house to help fix a broken toilet. When completed with the task, the man intended on leaving the house, but his car wouldn’t start. The R/P then told her current roommate, a Tomahawk man, 19, that her ex-boyfriend would have to stay the night until she could take him somewhere the next day. This resulted in the two men getting into a fight where the roommate battered the ex-boyfriend. The ex-boyfriend did sustain minor injuries, but refused any medical assistance. The roommate was arrested and booked into the Lincoln County Jail for battery, disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana.
On 1/22/2025 a deputy was dispatched to the area of the W8300 block of STH 86 for a vehicle in the ditch. It was reported that the driver of the vehicle was attempting to turn around when he put his car in the ditch. The driver stated his dogs had distracted him, causing him to go into the ditch. When the deputy made contact with the driver, a Merrill man, 47, she noticed signs of impairment. The deputy requested the driver to perform some sobriety tests, and as a result of those tests, the driver was placed under arrest for a first offense of OWI. The deputy assured the dogs would be cared for prior to leaving the scene; then she transported the driver to Aspirus Tomahawk Hospital, where she later released the driver to a responsible party.
On 01/23/2025 a deputy on patrol sopped a vehicle on USH 51 near Lincoln Dr. in the Township of Merrill for a speeding violation. The deputy made contact with the driver, a Conover man, 66, and noticed signs of impairment. The deputy requested the man perform some sobriety tests, and as a result of those tests, the driver was placed under arrest for a 4th offense of OWI, along with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. The driver was then brought to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was turned over to corrections staff.
On 01/23/2025 deputies were dispatched to the area of USH 51 and CTH J in the Town of Birch for a driving complaint. It was reported that a vehicle was observed weaving all over the road and straddling the center line. A deputy located a vehicle matching the description that had been given on USH 51 near Kaphaem Rd. in the Town of Bradley. The deputy witnessed driving behavior similarly to what had been reported and stopped the vehicle to investigate. The deputy made contact with the driver, an Osseo woman, 52, and noticed signs of impairment. The deputy requested the driver perform some sobriety tests, and as a result of those tests placed her under arrest for a first offense of OWI. She was transported to Aspirus Tomahawk Hospital and later released to a responsible party.
On 01-26-2025 deputies were dispatched to the area of STH 64 and Range line Rd. in the Town of Pine River for a car crash with injuries. According to the driver, a Merrill woman, 36, she was traveling W/B on STH 64 when she swerved to miss a deer when and put her car in the ditch. When she entered the ditch, the vehicle struck an embankment, as well as a highway sign. The vehicles airbags deployed during the event, and she sustained a leg injury, but denied medical treatment.
Deputies conducted 32 traffic stops and 41 security checks.
Deputies responded to five car vs. deer crashes.
Driving complaints: Seven.
The 911 Center took two hang-up calls and three nuisance calls.
