Posted

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, Dec. 22, 2025:

On 12/17/2025 deputies were sent to an address on STH 17 in the Town of Harrison for a domestic disturbance in progress. While dispatchers were on the phone, they were able to hear an argument in the background with what sounded like someone telling another subject to “shoot them.” The dispatcher continued to listen to the fighting until the phone was disconnected. Attempted calls back went unanswered. As deputies were responding, they were advised by ONSO that the male suspect, a Rhinelander man, 62, was considered an officer safety issue from past police contacts. When deputies arrived on scene, they began searching the area for the suspect, who had left prior to their arrival. A short time later, the suspect was located at a nearby property, hiding in a car. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was booked in for domestic disorderly conduct.

On 12/20/2025 a deputy was sent to the area of USH 8 and Honey Rd. in the Town of Wilson to investigate a reported vehicle in the ditch. While investigating the crash scene, the Sheriff’s Office received a call from a business in Tripoli reporting that the suspected driver, a Hawkins man, 44, was at that location and appeared to be intoxicated. The deputy responded to the business and made contact with the suspected driver. After investigating and making contact with the driver, the deputy placed the suspect under arrest for OWI. The suspect did resist during the arrest process, but was taken into custody. The suspect was later transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was turned over to jail staff.

On 12/21/2025 deputies from the Sheriff’s Office were sent to the area of STH 17 in the Town of Merrill to investigate a disturbance with the possibility that a gun had been fired. Officers from MPD also responded to assist. Upon arrival of the first Merrill officer, they reported that they had located what appeared to be a two-vehicle crash. Once deputies arrived on scene, they spoke with the suspect, a Merrill man, 18, who gave conflicting stories as to what had happened and did show signs of intoxication. The suspect was asked to perform some sobriety tests, which he agreed to do. As a result of those tests, the suspect was placed under arrest for a first offense of OWI. A search of the suspect’s vehicle revealed firearms. The suspect was also arrested for going armed while intoxicated, obstructing and carrying a concealed weapon. He was then transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was turned over to jail staff.

Deputies conducted 12 traffic stops and 25 security checks.
