Lincoln County Sheriff’s Report: April 7, 2025

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, April 7:

On 4/1/2025 deputies were sent to the N4400 block of STH 17 in the Town of Schley for a reported one-car crash with injuries. Upon arrival on scene, the first deputy made contact with the driver, a Merrill woman, 39. She advised she lost control of her vehicle due to road conditions, she entered the ditch and struck a group of trees. The woman told the deputy that she had been drinking intoxicating beverages, and that she thought she was intoxicated. The driver was arrested for a second offense of OWI. She was later turned over to Corrections officers at the Lincoln County Jail.

On 4/2/2025 deputies were sent to the area of CTH CC near Wildwood Rd in the Town of Bradley for a reported one-car crash with injuries. When deputies arrived on scene, they made contact with the driver, a Tomahawk woman, 39. The driver stated she was distracted by her two young passengers and her vehicle left the road way. She traveled for some distance before the vehicle came to a complete stop. The woman stated she had severe back pain from the crash. The two children were not injured. The woman will be receiving a citation for in attentive driving.

On 04/05/2025 a deputy stopped a vehicle on Tannery Rd. near Milky Rd. for a traffic violation. Once the vehicle was stopped, the deputy requested the assistance of the Tomahawk Police K-9 officer. In performing a walk around the suspect car, the dog did show a positive alert. A search of the vehicle was conducted and did turn up some drug paraphernalia. Both the driver, a Tripoli man, 56, and his passenger, a Tomahawk woman, 35, were both placed under arrest for probation violations. They were both transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where it was discovered they were hiding additional items on their person. As a result, additional charges will be pending.

On 04/06/2025, deputies were sent to the area of the N1900 block of Farmingdale Rd. in the Town of Corning for a report of a theft in progress. The R/P had received a call from his neighbor reporting that there were people on the R/P’s property and they were actively going through the R/P’s garage and removing items. The suspect vehicle left prior to law enforcement arriving on scene. The R/P followed the suspect vehicle, reporting its location to law enforcement until officers were able to stop the vehicle on Cottage St. and State St. in the City of Merrill. When stopped, it was discovered that the vehicle was occupied by three 16-year-olds of Merrill and one 17-year-old from Merrill. After questioning the four, it was determined that they had stolen a bike, along with traffic signs and cones. Subsequently the 17-year-old was placed under arrest and transported to the Lincoln County Jail. The three juveniles were taken to their homes. Charges against the juveniles are pending. All four are facing a charge of theft.

Deputies conducted 51 traffic stops and 31 security checks.

Deputies responded to six car vs. deer crashes

Driving complaints: Nine.                            

The 911 Center took three hang-up calls and six nuisance calls.
