Posted

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, April 14:

On 4/9/2025 a deputy on patrol stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Birchwood Ave. and N. 4th St. in the City of Tomahawk, as the driver didn’t have a valid driver’s license. The deputy made contact with the driver, a Tomahawk man, 44, and confirmed that he had a suspended driver’s license. The deputy also learned that the driver was wanted by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant. The man was arrested and taken to the Lincoln County Jail for the warrant.

On 4/13/2025 a deputy on patrol stopped a vehicle on Hillside Dr. and Wendorf Dr. in the Town of Merrill for not having license plates. When the deputy stopped the vehicle, a second vehicle stopped behind the deputy’s patrol car. A second squad then pulled up behind the second vehicle to make contact with the driver. The first deputy made contact with the driver, a Merrill woman, 39, of the car he stopped. While the two deputies spoke with the drivers, a K9 officer with Merrill PD performed a walk around with his partner, and the dog indicated a positive alert. As a result of the positive alert, both vehicles were searched, and the second vehicle was found to have meth and drug paraphernalia inside. As the deputies continued to investigate, the second deputy on scene, who is a drug recognition expert, noticed signs of impairment in the woman. The woman was placed through a series of tests, and as a result of those tests, she was arrested for a first offence of OWI with a controlled substance. She was also arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation violation. She was later transported to the Lincoln County Jail.

Deputies conducted 69 traffic stops and 32 security checks.

Deputies responded to six car vs. deer crashes and one car vs. turkey.

Driving complaints: 11.

The 911 Center took two hang-up calls and three nuisance calls.
