LaVonne “Vonnie” E. Penkalski, age 95 of Stoddard, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse. She was born in St. Paul, Minn., Aug. 13, 1930 the daughter of Esther (Boris) and Eldron Teal.
Vonnie and Russ raised their three boys in Stoddard whereby she was a homemaker, occasionally working outside her home after the boys were out of school. She loved to garden, play slots at the casinos and was on many bowling teams. Vonnie and Russ did some traveling together as well.
She is survived by her children, Russell T (Jane), Richard (Lori), Randy (Sherri) Penkalski, grandchildren, Tracy (Gary) Temple, Kerri (Dev) Moser, Tiffany Penkalski, (step-grandson) John Merfeld Hengel, Branden (Brittany) Penkalski, Logan (April) Penkalski, (step-grandchildren) Ryan (Debra) Gleiss and Violet Gleiss, great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Elissa and Amanda Moser, Caiden and Nicholas Addison, Raven Wesley, Also survived by her siblings, Jack Teal, Kathy Huston, Charles (Mary) Teal, sisters-in-law Marge and Ardis Teal and many nieces, nephew.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Russell E., brothers Richard (Elaine) Teal, Jerry Teal, Francis Teal, Mich Teal, sisters Jean (Dave) Streicher, Mary Jane Watten.
A private burial is being planned in Calvary Cemetery, Tomahawk.
The Blaschke Schneider Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
