Kirsten (Kissy) J. Boyens

Kirsten (Kissy) Boyens died unexpectedly in her home on Oct. 4, 2024 at the age of 61. Kissy was born May 24, 1963 in Hayward, IAowa, to her parents Ray Boyens and Judy Boyens.

Kissy spent most of her childhood in Tomahawk. She was a 1981 graduate of Tomahawk High School. After high school Kissy went on to college in California, Colorado, and eventually returned to Tomahawk to earn her nursing degree. Nursing was a natural career choice for Kissy. She had a big heart and a nurturing soul. If help was needed she was always there to lend a hand. Her nursing career took her back to Colorado and beyond as she was a traveling nurse for many years. Wherever Kissy went with her job she always seemed to find friends and family nearby to connect with. Always helping out wherever she was. She eventually settled down and purchased a home in Madison, Wis., where she continued to work as a nurse. Her sister Inger and brother Brad eventually shared this home with her as she continued to help out her family.

Kissy was preceded in death by her parents and sister Inger.

She is survived by her sister Michal (Missy,) (Chris) Tobler, Rockford, Ill., her brother Brad Boyens, Madison, Wis., her stepmother Janet Warwick, several nieces and a nephew.

She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life service at Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk on May 24, 2025 for Kissy and her sister Inger starting at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow at the Tomahawk American Legion. The family is handling the arrangements.
