Kenneth C. Wyland, age 86, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, after an 18-month fight against lung cancer. Ken was born on May 8, 1939. A longtime resident of Tomahawk, he started his work career at the Dime Store (Ben Franklin) and later started working at the papermill (Owens-Illinois, Georgia Pacific, Pactive, and Packaging Corporation of America), working in the storeroom for over 38 years. Ken was in the Army National Guard for ten years with the rank of staff sergeant. He was stationed at Fort Lewis, WA, from 1961-1962 during the Berlin Crisis.
He married the love of his life, Lois (Rapp) Wyland in 1977. They were married for 45 years. Between the two of them, they raised six children. After all the children flew the nest, the two of them built a house on 40 acres where they enjoyed working in the woods and watching the wildlife. During his lifetime, Ken was an avid blood donor at the Red Cross donating over 26 gallons of blood. His favorite thing was his chainsaw and cutting down trees. Up until three years ago, he was still cutting up trees. He truly loved the Northwoods where he could hunt and fish. Ken ran circles around many people with his high energy. He was a kind and generous person who will be extremely missed.
In accordance with Ken’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family. You may view Ken’s obituary and leave online condolences at generationsfuneral.com.
