Kathleen M. Devinger

Kathleen M. Devinger (nee Hagerty), 88, passed away peacefully on Dec. 19, 2023. She was born on Aug. 3, 1935 in Chicago, Ill., to the late Elanore (nee Clark) and William Hagerty.

She married Richard Devinger (deceased) on Dec. 10, 1960 and eventually raised six wonderful children: Eugene Devinger (deceased), Michael Devinger (Susan), Laurie Davis (nee Devinger – Jeffrey), David Devinger (Patricia), Todd Devinger and James Devinger. She and Richard enjoyed spoiling their grandchildren: Patrick, Jennifer, Heidi, Storm, Starr, Tess, Nathan, Morgan, Christian, Andrew, Alex, Sean, Rylan and Emily. She is also survived by her sister Grace Pera (nee Hagerty) along with many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors whom she adored.

During her life she exemplified the true nature of an unshakeable caretaker, making sure that all she knew were safe and nurtured. She spent many years as a realtor in Illinois and Wisconsin – a career she enjoyed immensely. Her hobbies included gardening, golf and get-togethers with friends and family.

Mother Theresa said, “Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love.” All who knew Kathleen will remember the multitude of kind acts she demonstrated enduringly over the course of her blessed life.
