Jane H. Meyer, age 87, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, under the care of her daughter and Compassus Hospice. Jane was born on January 22, 1939, in Tomahawk, WI, to the late Alfred and Harriet (Grube) Borkenhagen. She was a graduate of Tomahawk High School and continued her education at Southern Methodist University in Texas.
Jane was first married to Bob Franks. During his military service, the couple lived in Germany, where their daughter, Holly, was born. They later divorced. Jane later married Robert Meyer, and together, they welcomed their son, Chris.
Jane dedicated many years of service as a librarian in Tomahawk. She became a familiar and friendly face to generations and was known for her kindness and helpful nature. Not surprisingly, she had a lifelong love of reading. Outside of her work, Jane enjoyed golfing, gardening, and bowling. She was an avid sports fan who cheered for the Packers and Badgers. She had a special love for animals and was “mom” and “grandma” to many cats and dogs. Jane was a loyal and caring friend to many throughout her life.
Survivors include her children, Holly Meyer, and Chris (Jennifer) Meyer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Harriet; and her husband, Bob Meyer.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at Generations Funeral Home on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Rev. Larry Mathein will officiate. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
