TOMAHAWK – For the 59th year, the Venison Feed in downtown Tomahawk served as a kickoff to Wisconsin’s nine-day gun deer hunting season.
Hunters, as well as family and friends, gathered on W. Wisconsin Ave. on Friday, Nov. 22 to enjoy the free burgers, served up by volunteers from various local organizations.
The event was organized by the Tomahawk Regional Chamber of Commerce.
The venison was processed by Geiss Meats.
Event sponsors and booths included WJJQ, Duwayne Kreager Insurance, the City of Tomahawk, Bethel Excavating/Northern Wisconsin Land Services, Country Financial, Wausau Homes/John J. Schoone Construction, NorthStar Restoration, Park City Credit Union, Crossbridge Community Bank, Incredible Bank, Cerny's Greenhouse, Health in Motion, Samuel Pressure Vessel Group, Tomahawk High School Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) and Future Business Leaders of America (FLBA), the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Rock Church of Tomahawk.
