TOMAHAWK – The Tomahawk Area Historical Society is seeking the community’s help in launching a new museum and exhibit.
The Historical Society’s antique printing press museum is slated to open this summer.
Numerous items are still needed for the museum, through either donations or purchase. Needed items include vertical display cabinets, a small wooden antique desk for a display, long horizontal display cases, plywood to make displays, pole and rope barriers, vintage mannequins and hostas and perennials in the spring.
A new exhibit focused on Tomahawk ice hockey is also in the works.
To make the exhibit a reality, the Historical Society is seeking old equipment, such as skates, pads, jerseys, sticks and pucks, as well as newspaper articles, team rosters and other items documenting teams and players.
Those interested in contributing to the print museum and/or the ice hockey exhibit can contact the Historical Society at tomahawkhistsociety@gmail.com.
