TOMAHAWK – Numerous Tomahawk High School (THS) students are competing in the 2026 Central Wisconsin Manufacturing Alliance (CWIMA) Machine Tool and Welding Competition.
Instructor Brian Schiltz explained that the event highlights students’ technical skills, precision and craftsmanship in real-world manufacturing applications.
“This competition challenges students to apply hands-on skills in machining and welding while demonstrating problem-solving, attention to detail and workplace readiness,” Schiltz said. “Top-performing students have the opportunity to earn scholarships toward technical education, making this experience not only a showcase of talent, but also a valuable step toward future careers in the skilled trades.”
