‘Harley-Lympics’: Kaphaem, Somo plants going head-to-head in friendly competition

TOMAHAWK – In the spirit of this year’s Winter Olympics, Harley-Davidson Tomahawk Operations’ two local plants, Somo and Kaphaem, are facing off in a friendly competition.

Roxanne Consolver of Tomahawk Operations noted that it wouldn’t be the Olympics without opening ceremonies and the carrying of the torch, so General Manager John Davis ran the torch from the Kaphaem plant to the Somo plant to kick off the “Harley-Lympics.”

The first event held between the two plants was a bowling challenge at Strikers Tomahawk Bowl, with Kaphaem emerging victorious by a mere 19 pins.

Several other Harley-Lympics events are planned throughout the year, including a billiards challenge at VFW Post 2687 later this month, darts, mini golf and a softball game to wrap up the competition in September.

The Harley-Lympics are spearheaded by the CARE team at Tomahawk Operations.
