He, along with his father-in- law, were fortunate to have played at all 12 championship golf courses and 36 executive golf courses in The Villages. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and loved talking football with his sons and beating them in a friendly game of pickle ball. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, sharing his fun sense of humor with his kids and grandkids.

Survivors include his wife of many years, Lynda Carew, of Oxford; four sons, Jason (Jennifer) Carew, of Wausau, Wis., Jeremy Carew, of Oxford, Joseph (Jamie) Carew, of Tomahawk, and Joshua (Sheena) Carew, also of Tomahawk; three sisters, Leslie Dalbeck, of Anchorage, Linda (Gary) Briner, of Tomahawk, and Lori (Nick) Nicholas, of Fayetteville, N.C.; and his mother and father-in-law, Jewel and Dennis Tweeten.
