Gordon “Gordie” Linus Wundrow, 92, of Marshfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.
A memorial service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield. Visitation took place from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Deacon Ray Draeger officiated. Burial followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield, where military honors were conducted by American Legion Post 54 - Marshfield.
Gordie was born on Feb. 12, 1933, in Marshfield, Wis., to Lawrence and Laurette (Bloomer) Wundrow. He attended Sacred Heart Grade School and graduated from Marshfield Senior High School.
He proudly served in the United States military and later worked for many years in quality control at Weyerhaeuser before retiring. Gordon married Bernice Chrouser on March 16, 1985, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Stratford, Wis.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Gordie loved baseball and played softball in his younger years. He enjoyed collecting and talking coins, and had a deep passion for muskie fishing spending many cherished days at the cottage on Lake Mohawksin and his home on Lake Nokomis in Tomahawk. Time at the lake was among his most treasured memories, enjoying the peace of nature and the company of loved ones. His life on the lake with family was always real good, real good.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice, and stepchildren: Greg (Kathy) Faulks of Centerville, Ohio; Debbie (Mike) Thorpe of Denton, Tex.; and Robin (Karen) Faulks of Stratford, Wis. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Gordie is further survived by his sister, Betty Grancorvitz of Marshfield, nieces Ellen (Jeff) Gall and Diane (Randy) Eilers, as well as many other extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Kitty; his sister, Romell Greves; and his niece, Judy Schmidt.
