George J. Kreutzer, age 93, passed away Fri day, Dec. 30, 2022, in Phoenix, Ariz. He was a loving husband, father, uncle, brother, and son who embraced life and those around him.
George was born in Tomahawk to the late George and Ruth Kreutzer of Athens, Wis. He married Rosemary (Roe) Wolfe of Iowa on March 7, 1953. Together they had twin boys Richard (deceased) and Robert, of Aurora, Colo.
He was a graduate of Tomahawk HS and University of Minnesota. He taught Health and Physical Education and coached all sports for 18 years with the Hopkins MN School System. He also served for 25 years with the Scottsdale, AZ School System (Pueblo Elementary). He and Roe, started the AZ Academy of Gymnastics, home of the AZ Twisters, which will have their 50th reunion at the 2023 Fiesta Bowl gymnastics meet. George was a dedicated teacher, coach and mentor to many students and gymnasts who went on to be coaches themselves. He was passionate about all MN Golden Gophers sport teams.
George is survived by his wife, Roe, their son Robert, five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren in the Denver area.
